RICONS AND THE ECOSYSTEM PLANTED 1,500 TREES TO SUPPORT FOREST RESTORATION AT BINH CHAU – PHUOC BUU NATURE RESERVE

14/07/2025

On the morning of July 12, 2025, Ricons, together with more than 80 employees from companies within the Ecosystem, joined hands to plant 1,500 Hopea odorata trees, contributing to forest protection at the Binh Chau – Phuoc Buu Nature Reserve.

Previously, in 2024, Ricons had planted 1,000 trees in the same forest, affirming commitment to working with the community to protect the environment and forest ecosystems.

More than 80 Ecosystem employees joined hands to plant 1,500 trees at Binh Chau – Phuoc Buu Nature Reserve

Binh Chau – Phuoc Buu Nature Reserve is one of the few remaining coastal forests in the Southeast region. Spanning over 11,000 hectares in the former Xuyen Moc District, Ba Ria – Vung Tau Province, the forest is a rare intersection of primary forest, mangrove forest and coastal sand forest ecosystems – creating an exceptionally rich and valuable biodiversity.

The Ecosystem’s designated planting area

Opening the program, Ms. Ha Tieu Anh, representing the Ecosystem, shared with employees the significance of the tree-planting initiative on the occasion of the Traditional Day. The Ecosystem has been implementing various projects in Ba Ria – Vung Tau Province (now part of Ho Chi Minh City), generating jobs for local workers. This tree-planting program reaffirmed the Ecosystem’s commitment to contributing to local development through environmental protection, natural forest restoration, and biodiversity conservation in the reserve.

The Ecosystem’s designated planting area

Immediately after the opening, participants worked together to plant 1,500 Hopea odorata trees, both greening vacant areas and replacing older trees deeper inside the forest. The event was joined by the Reserve Management Board, who provided detailed guidance on seedling selection and planting techniques.

The atmosphere was filled with enthusiasm and pride, as each participant knew they were helping protect the “green lungs” of the Southeast coastal forest – home to hundreds of rare and endangered species listed in both the Vietnam Red Data Book and the IUCN Red List.

Mr. Nguyen Chi Dung delivering the closing remarks

After completing the planting, Mr. Nguyen Chi Dung – Director of Construction Division, BM Windows – expressed his gratitude to all employees for their participation. He believed that this tree-planting program in particular, and the Ecosystem’s community activities in general, would continue to accompany localities in contributing to Vietnam’s national sustainable development goals.
