Last August 9, 2023, The Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV) released contractor selection results for bidding package No.12 – The construction and installation of passenger terminal T3, part of the grander project titled ‘The construction and installation of passenger terminal T3 – Tan Son Nhat International Airport.’ Besides Ricons, the consortium include Hanoi Construction Corporation, Construction Corporation No.1, Corporation 319 (Ministry of Defense), Truong Son Construction Corporation, and Luu Nguyen Construction Co., Ltd. The project building consortium, in particular, met the standards for technical capacity documents and won the bid despite bidding being more than 22 billion VND lower than the declared price. The passenger terminal T3 – Tan Son Nhat international airport development project consists of three major components: the passenger terminal, a high-rise garage incorporating non-aviation services, and a viaduct system in front of the station.
All parties signed the 9,000 billion VND contract on the afternoon of August 14, 2023 and are now commencing the first project implementation stages.
The contract performance time is projectedly 600 days from the date on which ACV Investor issues the groundbreaking order, as well as officially hands over the site to the Contractor for construction of the work, according to information approved after the contractor selection results. Completion time takes into account public holidays and New Year’s Eve, except for force majeure circumstances.
Once entirely established and set in operation, passenger terminal T3 is anticipated to be a domestic passenger terminal that holds a capacity of 20 million people per year.
The project is expected to begin before the end of August 2023.
