As part of its ESG activities in 2025, Ricons recently launched the campaign “Collect Used Batteries – Keep the Earth Green” to mark World Environment Day on June 5 and promote the message of environmental protection across its entire workforce.
Used batteries contain heavy metals and toxic chemicals such as mercury, lead, and cadmium. If not properly disposed of, these substances can seep into the soil and water sources, causing serious environmental pollution and long-term harm to human health and ecosystems. Proper collection and disposal of used batteries is a practical action to reduce hazardous waste and raise public awareness of environmental responsibility.
With a simple yet powerful message, the campaign received enthusiastic participation from Ricons employees at both the head office and construction sites nationwide. In just a short time, over 3,000 used batteries—equivalent to more than 70 kilograms of hazardous waste—were collected. Employees were encouraged to exchange 4 used batteries for one bar of eco-friendly Sinh Duoc soap, or 8 used batteries for a reusable canvas tote bag—offering a sustainable alternative to single-use plastic bags.
All collected batteries will be handed over to certified waste treatment partners in accordance with environmental regulations, ensuring safe and proper disposal. This initiative is one of Ricons’ many practical ESG actions in 2025, reflecting the company’s commitment to contributing to sustainable development alongside the community.
Ricons’ ESG journey continues—with every responsible action we take today, we help build a greener, better future for generations to come.
