Alongside its strategy for sustainable business growth, Ricons and companies within its ecosystem have always prioritized partnering with universities and supporting students in their career orientation journeys. In line with this commitment, on the morning of June 16, 2025, Ricons, together with Newtecons, SOL E&C, BM Windows, BOHO, and DB, took part in the “Sketches to Skylines” event organized by the Ho Chi Minh City University of Architecture. The event served as a meaningful bridge between academia and industry, offering inspiration and practical insight for students in the fields of Architecture and Construction.
Representing the corporate ecosystem were Mr. Nguyen Ba Duong – Founding Chairman, Mr. Nguyen Sy Cong – Chairman of the Board, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tam – Operations Director, along with HR Directors and heads of departments. From the University, the event welcomed Assoc. Prof. Dr. Arch. Le Van Thuong – Party Secretary and Rector, Dr. Hoang Bac An – Deputy Party Secretary and Chairman of the University Council, as well as faculty leaders, lecturers, and over 150 third- and fourth-year students majoring in Architecture and Construction.
At the event, Mr. Nguyen Ba Duong delivered his first-ever talk to students of the University of Architecture. With a sincere and thoughtful style, he recounted his entrepreneurial journey in building and developing leading construction brands in Vietnam. Through real-life stories and valuable lessons accumulated over years of dedication, he delivered a powerful message to the younger generation—encouraging belief in oneself, ambition, and pride in contributing to landmark projects on both national and international scales.
He emphasized that to succeed in the industry, young professionals must not only be passionate but also nurture big dreams, remain persistent in pursuing their goals, and continuously expand their knowledge. Most importantly, professional ethics and kindness should be core values throughout their careers.
Discussing the business ecosystem—comprising Newtecons, Ricons, SOL E&C, BM Windows, BOHO, and DB— Mr. Nguyen Ba Duong reaffirmed the group’s commitment to fostering a performance-driven work environment that supports employee development. He respectfully described the University of Architecture as a “cradle” that has trained generations of leaders and managers now holding key positions across the companies.
A standout feature of the program was the Q&A session between students and corporate representatives. The atmosphere grew vibrant as students eagerly posed real-world questions regarding career paths in construction, job prospects, recruitment criteria, and the skill sets needed to thrive in a professional environment.
Mr. Nguyen Ba Duong and the company leaders responded to each question with openness, sincerity, and inspirational insight. Their guidance helped students gain a clearer view of future career possibilities and understand the value of early dedication and growth. More than just a networking opportunity, the event became a truly emotional and motivational “torch-passing” moment.
With a solid foundation and forward-looking vision, the businesses within the ecosystem will continue serving as launchpads for the next generation of talent, empowering them to turn passion into action—true to the spirit of “Sketches to Skylines.” Looking ahead, the partnership between these companies and the University of Architecture will continue to deepen, offering students greater access to knowledge, practical experience, and holistic training. This will prepare them with the confidence and skills to enter the workforce and contribute to building sustainable projects that proudly carry the Vietnamese identity in an era of national growth and global integration.
