The Construction Project of Terminal 3 – Tan Son Nhat International Airport consists of three main components: The passenger terminal, the multi-storey car park combined with non-aviation services, and the apron system in front of the terminal. Terminal 3 is designed with one basement level and four above-ground levels, covering a total construction floor area of 112,500 square meters. It is designed with separate arrival and departure levels, with a total height of 35.9 meters (measured from the roof’s peak). According to the design, Terminal 3 features 90 traditional aviation check-in counters, 42 self-service kiosks, 25 passenger security control gates, 6 baggage processing islands for departure, and 10 baggage reclaim islands for arrival. There are also 27 departure gates (13 jet bridges and 14 bus gates).
The multi-storey car park combined with non-aviation services comprises two basement levels and four above-ground levels, with a total area of 135,400 square meters. From the 1st to the 4th are commercial area, service, and office. Upon completion and commencement of operations, Terminal T3 will serve as a domestic passenger terminal with a capacity of 20 million passengers per year, accommodating 7,000 passengers per hour during peak time. The project is being carried out concurrently with the expansion of connecting transportation infrastructure, aiming to address the fundamental issue of congestion at Tan Son Nhat International Airport.
