Long Thanh International Airport’s passenger terminal takes the lotus flower as its primary inspiration, which is consistently incorporated throughout the design process. It is applied to the roof, the main facade view, the interior of the check-in area, as well as the central area and three wings. The central terminal features artificial waterfalls and garden landscapes combined with natural light, with waterfalls cascading from the 3rd floor to the 1st floor.
The passenger terminal is built on an area of 376,000 square meters, designed with two separate arrival and departure concourses, comprising 1 ground floor and 3 upper floors, with a peak roof height of 45.55 meters and provisions for 40 parking positions for Code C, E, F aircraft. The construction period is 39 months, with an expected completion and operational date in 2026.
In Phase 1, upon commencement of operations, Long Thanh International Airport will have a capacity to serve 25 million passengers and handle 1.2 million tons of cargo per year. It is projected that upon the completion of all phases, Long Thanh International Airport will reach a capacity of up to 100 million passengers per year and become the largest airport in Vietnam, aiming to be a bustling regional transit hub, contributing to the socio-economic development of Vietnam.
